CREATIVITY: A GIFT...

Painters paint, writers write, composers compose, designers design……
Have we ever wondered why these people do anything creative?
They do it (perhaps they may not realize it) to change your life. I’m sure we all of us sometimes do the things when we see, hear, or read something that touches our heart’s core. It is here that the chord that fuels an intense emotion and something that immediately connects. Something new takes its birth.
With everything we do, we are given new opportunity to transform the mind of the other. We each one have the power within us to change someone’s whole perspective on an issue or the life itself and this thought of changing people to throw all their energy into their art.
CREATIVITY... …What is it???
It is an agony that feeds one’s mental strength and yet those who possess it pray fervently to their own Gods to never take this gift away from them.

 Let us imagine …..
A writer who wakes up one fine day and finds that his mind is barren and that he can no longer write feels that he is left with nothing and life has come to a complete stand still. If an artist discovers that he can’t paint or if a musician realizes that he has stopped hearing the melodies that once flowed from his heart and mind he would find his life empty …like an oyster without a pearl.
One of the great authors of our times CARLOS G VaLLES says ‘creativity is a Goddess’. All those who are slave of this Goddess toil not for fame and fortune, but for the feeling of fulfillment they get out of the creation which is worth giving to the world.
According to R. Tagore creativity is nothing but a vision. Creative people see the things that no one else can see and which they believe that can change the world.
In this process of creation a creator feels close to God who is the supreme creator…. And rejoices over the power of imagination that has received from his supreme master.
Yet creativity is a painful gift. It takes your nourishment by gathering emotions that lie concealed in the depths of one’s being. In other words it sucks you.
Creativity cannot grow in sunny weather. When one weathers storm and draws strength from pain, only then does creativity sprout.
One cannot think of writing a poem on the life’s struggle after having a grand dinner party. If he sits in the drawing room with a pen and pad am sure he is gonna sleep within a few minutes.
One need to feel the struggle of life only then a creative inspiration to write a poem on life’s struggle becomes successful.
Someone who is creative must have the courage to decide who he is going to become.
What each artist strives for in his work is perfection. Not just a display of talent but for the touch of that indefinable something which we call real genius, that which’ll let others see the power of their vision. They struggle to give each and every human the gift of imagination although they know that life for them will be a struggle in terms of friendship and other relationship.

Creative people are often scorned, appear as misfits in several situations and they somehow realize that boon of creativity comes with the boon of loneliness. Although they know that they will never be really understood, creative people continue in their strife to explain their vision to others/the world.
They are not just the philosophers, thinkers, pioneers.. who give others the convictions to raise above the curse of mediocrity, they are the slaves of all humanity who toil all their lives to keep the flames of faith, hope and imagination alight in the world. They work to show everyone that the people work to inspire you and me to strive for flight. They work to change your life. Let us then stand up and salute these great creative beings.

prostitutes on journey

Prostitution is taboo!!! It’s bad and not acceptable. This is what the society of our time feels and expresses. It is a vast topic or a subject for the discussion, argumentation, study, and research. It has a history. Time and again people have tried to understand this reality and in all the ways possible have attempted to eradicate this phenomenon.

A visit to Bangalore recently gave me such a surprising opportunity to view the life of prostitutes so closely. The time which I was supposed to spend window shopping in the glittering malls was spent just the other way. I was on the streets, in the bus stand…closely viewing the life reality of these young ladies whom the society brands as Prostitutes.

I was watching those beautiful sensitive women who were ready to sell their own body for the mere gain of money that evening and all the evening to come. An owner woman a prostitute herself was selling her prostitute gals to the goons, who came by autos and cars. Was it a drama or a film I was watching without a digital screen before me??…!!! The sight of police arriving scatters them. They run away from the spot…but this life of theirs continues every day whispers my fellow neighbor who also keenly observes these frustrating lives of these young beautiful girls.

Life spent in this manner indeed disgraces their personality and families. People who use them for the pleasure degrade them when it’s the matter of dignity and success.

Lots of discussions, arguments and talks on this topic have been delivered but failure continues to happen. They speak of cause and effect, advantages and disadvantage, merits and demerits of prostitution and of being a prostitute. I did access some ideas on Google. This way of life saddens me. I feel sorry for the circumstances that brought them to this state of life. They have been unhealthy not just physically but also mentally/psychologically.

May we extend our supporting hands in whatever way possible to help these ladies if they come across on our journey of Life? Shall we accept them as they are and not keep them aloof? They are human beings like u and me.

Fascinating hymn…

There are a very few things in life that fascinate us. All that we see, touch, experience cannot have a lasting impression on us. A few thoughts, things, ideas, music, people, books, institutions, movies, stories, gadgets…. make our life’s journey easy and comfortable.
One out of such few things in life is ‘music’. Music always fascinates me. Music grants me the trusted accompaniment both during my busy schedules and leisure. My journey of life receives its deserved comfort.
Here is a meaningful Kannada hymn that always draws me closer to God. Every time I lend my ears to this melody, I am comforted, strengthened and energized. I pray better. My communion with God increases.
         Here is that enthralling hymn.

Little Wonders. 3-1-2012

Gone r the days when the 7 prominent historical wonders were considered to be 'The Wonders' of the world. For me those 7 or 77 wonders don’t make any difference or generate any impact on my living. The reason is this, I haven’t personally experience their glory. Of course they have had their share in inspiring my thoughts and my imaginations.

The little experience of life has given me lots of happy moments. I can always smile at my past. The quality time spent with those little wonders of life is what ultimately are, ‘The Wonders’ for me.

A recent visit to my family and my neighborhood renewed my happiness. The innocence in the beautiful smiles of children always inspires me to be like them. The naughty play of cats and goats at my home bring back that childhood. The care and love of my near ones give me a heaven's ride... Journey of my Life receives its glitter every day with new thought, new encounter, new experience,
new talk, new work, and so on.

Cute wonders of my Life...!!!

A New Start.. 1 - 1 - 2012

A great start indeed, my new year started in a low note though. The morning hours were dim and foggy may be because i didn’t realize it wz a special day for whole world. I started  the day thinking it wz another ordinary day. But the course of the day changed the experience.. During the day i spoke to my dear and near ones, which surrounded me with happiness. It showed me that i am loved and cared... I am really thankful for this experience.

The evening of new year wz a great one. I got an opportunity to speak to the crowd of 75-85 about the unity and oneness of all the religions in an inter religious Christmas n new year program arranged by a few gooư hearted people of Ujire, Mangalore. It wz all in Kannada. My first public talk in Kannada. The interesting part of the speech wz, i enjoyed every word that i spoke. For me it wz a reflective talk. i could really feel d listening ears of the audience. I couldn't believe my ears that i could speak so convincingly in Kannada...
It wz a glorious start of 2012. Thanks for all the opportunities and experience...which make my life's journey interesting and worth living.
